Nur cooperated with different parties to enhance the quality of its products .
Nur signed an agreement with the Royal Scientific Society (R.R.S) on 1993 to test and improve performances of flat plate collectors. Traditional collectors in Jordan were manufactured using a single plate welded to a number of pipes; we replaced the absorber flat-collectors plates with multiple fins each of which attached to a single riser (pipe) which in turn maximizes the contacts between the absorber plates and the pipes, in addition studies were conducted on the type of coatings applied to the absorber plates.
The changes in the design of the plate resulted in an increase in the overall efficiency of the collectors, , which saved time and money.
Other improvements were related to the efficiency of insulation by using solid sheet high-density rock wall with aluminum foil, and insulation of the outlet and inlet of the collector headers with rubber rings.
Nur signed an agreement with R.S.S to test and improve the performance of electric water heaters.
The researches focused on the effects of adding internal surface coatings, magnesium rods, thickness of insulation and thickness of internal and external cylinders.
The main focus of the studies was to enhance the overall performance of the heater, extend its life cycle, lower the losses and thus cut the costs of operation and electricity bills.
Nur is always interested in producing high quality electric water heaters to decrease the consumption of electricity to a minimum level, and increase performance to a maximum level.
The hot water cylinders are the key point to reliable central heating equipment, and that is why Nur worked hard to improve its performance.
Nur signed an agreement with R.S.S to conduct required tests, and with the Higher Council for Science and Technology to finance the project, and with University of Stuttgart (Germany) to establish designing and testing programs.
Several Models for the cylinders were manufactured at Nur.
The designs with the best test results and performance were adapted and released to Nur factory for production.
This study allowed Nur to manufacture a hot water cylinder with 26% increase in the efficiency as compared to the best locally manufactured cylinders in the Jordanian market.
The outcome was a better performing product, a better efficiency and thus a lower operation cost.
Nur signed an agreement with the R.S.S. on the year 2009 to design and manufacture a CSP unit. The work is going to produce a high quality products. To be used on steam production for different industrial applications.
Nur is cooperating with RSS to study and produce a solar concentrator trough, the tests are ongoing to approach to the best efficiency and a feasible price to be sold in the local and neighboring markets.
